Happy Friday, friends! Today I’m finally sitting in my own apartment, writing at my own desk. I’ve spent much of the last week putting things away and unpacking, which somehow seems to take exponentially longer than you’d expect. I look at a box and think, “Oh, this should take me half an hour or so to put up,” and then…
I’m hoping I can get a lot of boxes unpacked this weekend, but I’m not holding my breath.
In World News, I’m glad I got my kitschy little Jubilee mug earlier this year! Ol’ Charles is finally getting his dream job at the ripe young age of 73. (I guess you’re never too old!) As I mentioned a few months ago — I have a sneaking suspicion the monarchy won’t exist much longer, and I think her death is only going to speed that up. I read today that when she took over, Britain had 70+ territories — and now, there are only 15.
Glad someone recorded that because you know they won’t show it on TV again.
As an aside — Do you think news anchors fight over who gets to go ‘on the scene’ for things like this? I have the news on in the background and someone said “I’m here in London, and so-and-so is back in New York with live coverage.” I’d be going to fisticuffs over getting a free trip to London. Gimme.
As expected, Twitter was a meme black hole yesterday, and I loved it. (Not to mention all the “Don’t Worry Darling” drama earlier this week…it’s been too good.) There’s really nothing I love more than being ONLINE while NEWS is happening. Here’s what I’ve got for ya this week:
I’m Being Personally Attacked
What else is new?
I’m sorry to report that highways in the Bay Area feel like all merge all the time. There’s all these little highways that you must get on because there’s no way to avoid them and you just get on for two stops and no one wants to let you over. I need this sticker.

Please, please know that I have done my best to cut this down to my faves. I’m trying. I really am.
One thing that Twitter always has going for it is that *brands* try to respond to every event and most of the time it’s just a hot mess. This was by far my favorite:
