Okay, that’s not true. It hasn’t actually been 84 years, but it has been just over two. Two full years I’ve managed to sequester myself, mask in public spaces, and avoid…it.
But all good things must come to an end, and sadly, my husband brought back a viral souvenir from his work trip last week. (We both have Covid. It’s been very unpleasant, but I’m thankful that we’re vaccinated and boosted. I can’t imagine dealing with this otherwise.)
I’m writing to you now from within one of my lucid, fever-free hours, so this post will probably be short. Hey, at least I’m here, right?
On the positive side, Covid has been a nice excuse for me to lay in bed and blast through the entirety of The Great Pottery Throw Down (rationing good TV is out the window when you’re sick), which is just a joy to watch. Highly recommend it, ill or not. I always get so excited to watch people excel in something they’re passionate about, and this season does not disappoint. The camaraderie between the contestants, Raku kilns, Keith crying at vases — what’s not to love?
Unfortunately this also means that I’ve actually spent very little time on the internet this week, mostly because my head feels like it’s going to go full-on Ghost Rider if I stare at a screen for too long. But I’ll at least give you the best I’ve got:
Is This Normal, Or am I a Hypochondriac?
Not me Googling “allergies body aches” / “body aching allergies” trying to convince my husband that his joint pain “is probably just because it’s Spring” early Monday morning. I sat down to work, and he sat down to a rapid test that turned up positive.
Also, did you know an early symptom of Covid-19 (or at least this current variant) is sneezing a whole bunch? Very cool that that also seems like allergies. I learned that after I spent 3 days sneezing before my cough and fever arrived. Love to learn a factoid as an unavoidable virus spreads through my body!
Who Approved This?
This is truly one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen. And that visor looks completely opaque*. Someone on their marketing team thought this was a great idea. It…is not.
*At some point during my childhood, I misunderstood the definition of the word opaque, thinking it meant that you could see through something. Now, I know what it is, but I still have to check every time I write it because I assume that whatever I think the meaning is, it’s actually the opposite. Brains are weird.

Just look at this little farmer!! 🥬 👩🌾 🥕
I love him so much.
Oh. Oh! I just realized it’s Friday the 13th! Freddy Krueger’s birthday or whatever. Maybe we could all go in on a gift and get him his own table.
That’s it for me. I’m about to start watching Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls before I go back to sleep. Hopefully this time next week I’ll be back to normal!
Have a good weekend, and stay far, far away from the ‘rona!
