Happy Friday, y’all!

Who’s to say, though?

We’ve had a pretty busy week — gotten a ton of stuff packed up, and I think, if we continue at this rate, we might be done early? I don’t know if that’s really a thing, but as it stands, we are cruising. Today I’m going to be packing all my books, which includes a giant TBR pile that I swear I’m going to get to one day.

Even though everything is going pretty well, packing is also a massive pain in the ass and I hate it. I’ve never wanted to throw everything I own into the garbage more than when I have to individually bubble wrap little items. You know what? I don’t need this. I don’t need any of this. Cram my clothes into a trash bag and let’s just get there, okay? (And then of course 5 minutes after arriving, I’m going to be like where are my little painted elephants from India??? 😭)

Even though I’ve been up to my neck in boxes this week, I’ve still had plenty of breaks to sit in my office chair and peruse the world wide web. Here’s what I’ve compiled for ya this week:

There’s been some discourse this week insinuating Olivia Rodrigo doesn’t measure up to Avril Lavigne/Hayley Williams, and I just have to say — no? She is great? I don’t get it at all.

I went to see Avril Lavigne in concert as a senior in high school and was somehow still one of the oldest people there, and when she played a Green Day cover all these little 8 year olds were like “Is this a new song??” and my friends and I were singing along and laughing about how old we felt and YOU KNOW WHAT I’m just gonna do that for the rest of my life I guess. My music tastes have not changed and I really want to go to this show!!

Every part of it is perfect, especially the Australian accent, but I think it’s the lead-in of “I don’t know how to tell you guys this” to “but I’ve never stopped!” that gets me every time.

Also, go and read through this Twitter thread — the TL;DR here is that a couple of guys dug a gigantic hole on the beach in Ireland for fun, and the media went wild thinking a meteor hit.

Their job is JUST FOOTBALL!! Why is this so hard??
